How often are the exchange rates updated?
Our charts refresh every 60 seconds with the latest market data. The live rate displayed at the top of the chart reflects the most current available price across our connected sources. When you select a longer timeframe (1 month and beyond), data points reflect daily closing rates from established financial APIs.
Where do the exchange rates come from?
We pull data from four independent financial APIs โ open.er-api.com, frankfurter.app, the CurrencyAPI CDN, and exchangerate-api.com โ and serve whichever responds first. This redundancy ensures the chart remains live even if one source goes offline. The data source for any given session is shown at the bottom-right of the chart.
Are these rates the same as what I'll pay or receive?
The rates shown are mid-market rates โ the wholesale price banks use to trade with each other. Our buy and sell prices for precious metals are derived from these live market rates, with a small margin applied that covers refining, insurance, and operational costs. Why do exchange rates move throughout the day?
Currency markets are open 24 hours, five days a week, and prices respond continuously to economic news, central bank decisions, geopolitical events, and trading volume across global financial centres. Even a few seconds can produce visible movement in actively traded pairs like GBP/USD or EUR/USD.
